ABOUT US

Created by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberties (FFN) – Morocco and launched in partnership with the Hiba Foundation, Bayt Al Fenn is a multidisciplinary, themed residency open to young artists resident in Morocco who are interested in a unique creative experience.

Over a 9-day period, Bayt Al Fenn offers a dozen artists from all disciplines a framework, both individual and collective guidance, a rich program, and a platform enabling them to expand their network and, above all, exhibit their work in a dedicated space.

MISSIONSAND CHALLENGES

Bayt Al Fenn is a themed artistic laboratory, a platform for collaborative creation in all disciplines, a space-time for reflection, experimentation, and creation, offering artists support for their projects, from the birth of the idea to the completion of the artwork and its public dissemination.

At Bayt Al Fenn, we fervently believe that artistic versatility is the future of art. So, behind the desire to host artists from different disciplines, we have set ourselves the ambition of offering these artists a ground for exchange and collaboration that can only bring richness to their creative process.

PRESENTATION OF THE ARTISTIC ACCOMPANIMENT APPROACH

Bayt Al Fenn’s creative accompaniment approach is aimed at project initiators resident in Morocco, whatever their artistic field: music, dance, theater, storytelling, plastic arts, audiovisuals, visual arts… Our stated aim is to encourage creativity in all its diversity and to bring real added value to the Moroccan artistic production sector, with a particular focus on emerging artists. Whether they are in the process of becoming professional artists, aspiring professionals, or established professionals, artists can benefit from Bayt Al Fenn’s accompaniment.

The residency and follow-up are overseen by two supervisors, and the program also includes round-table discussions for the exchange of ideas and reflection on Art in Morocco, as well as workshops led by personalities from civil society and artists who will be able to share their visions on the year’s thematic with the artists.

Media coverage of the artists takes place throughout the residency. It takes the form of digital content and micro-content distributed via the various communication channels of Bayt Al Fenn, the FFN, the Hiba Foundation, and its partners.

A residency agreement is drawn up between Bayt Al Fenn and the project owner, setting out the duration of the residency and the terms of accompaniment.

Bayt Al Fenn provides the artists with:

– Spaces designed for artistic creation

– Full-board accommodation

– Technical equipment (stage, sound, lighting, video, etc.)

Bayt Al Fenn does not offer subsidies or work grants. Contributions are solely in kind and in industry (which may include the direct payment of certain services required for the production).

Bayt All Fenn does not pay for air travel or per diems for the duration of the residency.
